Listening to you tell your story of how you found out about Stargardt disease took me back to when I was diagnosed, I thought I was the only one in the world who had it and didn’t know what to do with myself, I still find it hard to accept it and have down days which everyone around still cant understand as they don’t know what stargardt disease is and how it effects your vision. I have never received any support apart from a Facebook group I’m in that has help me realise I’m not the only one. I was 24/25 when I was diagnosed and it felt like my world fell apart, I’m 27 now and my vision is getting worse every year and doesn’t seem to been slowing down. Listening to you today has brought a smile to my face to know that you are making people aware of this disease and that you are creating a place for everyone to get support. Thank you x
Thank you so much for listening Jordan. im sorry to hear you were diagnosed in your twenties, but you are certainly not alone and i understand it is a hard thing to accept. My vision is also getting worse and some days are difficult and i need others to understand just what we are going through as i think it is hard for fully sighted people to truly realise the impact of this disease. thank you for your message and kind words. Take care x
