In most cases of Stargardts, it is the central vision that is lost, and the peripheral vision will be retained. Sometimes Stargardts can affect all your vision, but that is extremely rare cases. It’s so hard to describe what everyone sees as we are all different. My vision is currently 20/30 in both eyes, but I have blind spots in places too. Most people with Stargardts will eventually struggle to read the top letter of the chart and may only see it using their peripheral (see pic below).
