AD | For the last couple of months, I have been testing out the OrCam MyEye device and wanted to share on here, just how helpful it has been for me in my everyday life.
The OrCam MyEye uses a camera with AI technology to memorise information and replay it back to you. I have been using mine for everything, including reading with my little ones, identifying my loved ones with facial recognition and reading menus out to me in cafes and restaurants. It can also identify colours and even tell you how many people are in front of you and where the door is located in a room! It has given me back a lot more independence where I haven’t had to ask people to help me read something like a school letter for my eldest and it has been amazing at barcode scanning and naming items in my food cupboard!
The OrCam MyEye is discreet and came with its own pair of frames that fits very well to my face and are really comfy for me. It attaches to the frames with strong magnets (or has attachments for your own if necessary) and is discreet enough not to feel self-conscious when using it. It also has volume control so you can adjust that as you need to. You don’t need any internet connection to use OrCam MyEye, which also makes it easy to use when out and about and can be carried around your neck with the lanyard or packed away in a bag until needed.
There is so much that this device can do and I’m still learning as I continue to use it in my daily life, but have so far found it’s features incredible and extremely helpful to me and it is simple and easy to use. All of its features can be voice activated or if you are somewhere quiet, just pointing to something you would like the OrCam MyEye to read or lifting your wrist up for the time or looking at someone you need to identify, will get it to respond. I feel this device could be helpful for others in this group so if anyone would like more information then you can contact OrCam with the link below ♥️.
